Eligibility Requirements for Form MV-150V
To qualify, the vehicle must be owned or co-owned by a veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces (or certain Reserve/National Guard components where noted). Key eligibility rules include:
- General Veteran / Branch of Service / Woman Veteran plates — Applicant must provide proof of discharge under conditions other than dishonorable (as defined in 51 Pa.C.S. § 7101.2).
- Korean War Veteran — Service in Korea between June 27, 1950, and January 31, 1955.
- Persian Gulf War Veteran — Service in the Southwest Asia Theater of Operations from August 2, 1990, to the present.
- Vietnam War Veteran — Award of the Vietnam Service Medal or Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal for qualifying service periods.
- World War II Veteran — Service between December 7, 1941, and December 31, 1946.

Fees for U.S. Military Veteran Registration Plates
An issuance fee is required in addition to any regular registration renewal fees. Under current Pennsylvania law (75 Pa.C.S. § 1364), the special plate fee for most veteran plates is $26. Motorcycle plates and certain other designations may have different fees. Personalized plates require an additional personalization fee.
